A great way to expand the good old Strat or Strat copy using this mod favoured by Eric Johnson and many more great guitarists. This modification is ideal for guitars that are tight on space either under the scratchplate or with a rear routed Super Strat etc Simply fit the two pots in place of the original pairing and wire the middle one so it controls the Neck and Middle pickups then wire the lower pot to control the Bridge pickups a quality mini tone pot controls a 0.022uf Capacitor for the mid and neck, while the bridge runs through the lower potentiometer and a 0.033uf cap, taking the edge of those sometimes excessive, and usually uncontrollable, highs that the bridge pickup can create. The solid wire that runs across both pots is also long enough to be soldered on to the volume pot to create an earth bus, helping remove unessesary buzzing due to poor earthing if you just rely on the flimsy foil tape seen on many Strat style guitars; it also makes it an easy common ground connection for the pickup and other system negative wires. You will not be disappointed with this cost effective modification
