Hacker Centurion record player radio combination. In the mid 1970s, when the boys at Hacker were faced with the challenger of how to compete with super quality, great value, high tech imports from Japan, they filled their pipes, strolled down to their sheds, pondered and decided...... Wood, lots of wood and maybe a bit more wood. Oh and a decent Garrard turntable and a thumping great amplifier - all crammed into a small (wooden) box. That'll save the British hifi industry. It didn't of course, but these Centurions are a joy - they sound fantastic (this one has been completely refurbished inside and out) and they are visually unique. To me they embody that last confused gasp of British manufacturing in the 1970s when British companies could still make quality products but wasn't sure what to make! This Centurion doesn't come with speakers, but we can find an appropriate pair for and extra cost.
