Iconic Vintage Sony Walkman WM-10II - Two for sale - one boxed with headphones

These were notable for their extremely small size - the case expands to enclose a cassette, but when the cassette is removed the case can be slid together, making an overall size little larger than a standard cassette case.

There are two units offered for sale in this lot.

Units are MINT/Near MINT Unboxed unit FULLY WORKING - boxed unit powers up but does not play - I think it needs a new belt? . I have checked and the capstans turn for all functions without a cassette loaded. With a cassette FFWD & REW work but play stalls (although I can hear the motor inside is turning over). The unboxed unit comes in a carry pouch and the player looks to have had little to no use. The pouch is pristine and the player shows no scratches or signs of wear. The boxed unit comes with all paperwork (unopened), unused original headphones, and a pristine, unused carry pouch. There is some very light age-related "spotting" on the back of this cassette player itself, which looks to have happened during long-term storage - see photos. I have however not attempted to clean this unit - the condition you see is original - as it was when the box was opened by myself. The cardboard box shows light age related wear and there is a stain / blemish below the windowpane on the front - see photo. This model was originally sold with a battery included and the spot corresponds with a small mark in the region where the battery was once located, so I suspect the battery had just started to leak and was removed (the battery was taken out long before I acquired this lot).

These are highly collectible, sought after items in this condition and they will display beautifully.
