DESCRIPTION
A popular statesman and barrister, who went on to become the Lord High Chancellor during the 1830s, Henry Brougham was a prominent force during the Georgian era, defeating the 1820 Pains and Penalties Bill and passing the 1833 Slavery Abolition Act. CONDITION
Rebound in half morocco, with gilt stamped decoration to the spine. Externally, all volumes generally smart, with some rubbing to the joints, head and tail of the spines and extremities. Internally, all volumes, firmly bound. Pages in all volumes are bright and clean, with only some minor handling marks in places.
