Marantz 2325 Receiver WORKS but needs VOLUME CONTROL REPAIR. Up for grabs here is a used old 43 years old Marantz 2325 classic receiver for bid as for repair or for parts. I don't think anyone would actually parts this oldie out as it is in pretty nice shape. It is NOT NEW nor is there any warranty of any kind. If you want a new receiver with warrant.....then this is not for you. The receiver works great if the volume control behaves. It will cut in and out on the left channel. It was froze up until I used some deoxite and penetrating oil over time for the volume control. It finally freed up and rotates smoothly. But as stated the left channel will go out. If you briskly turn up the volume control then it will come back on and then go out. I have had both channels stay on for hours......and then the one side goes out until you mess with the volume control again. And after a while the right side will go out. So unit will have to be properly repaired. But this is hard for the speakers if volume is turned up to much to get the channels going so it is not recommended..The amp never clicks off during all this. The protection relay circuit does not ever engage in fault mode. So the main amp will not click off. Also the volume post is partially broken off. The knob still stays on the post though with a small shim. The receiver has some various scratches on cabinet. all lights work great. Tuner great with stereo light properly engaged when a stereo signal is achieved. Yes there is proper stereo separation. The old power cord has been replaced with a heavy duty unit. Cord works fine though but not original. Cabinet has nicks on it. Super heavy unit. Weighs over 50 lbs. I will send off parcel post US MAIL in very sturdy packed box. SOLD AS IS AND NO RETURNS AS THIS IS A MUST. This oldie needs some work and TLC. These receivers are becoming quite scares these days. Inside looks aged but not too bad considering age. Incredible quality on these rare hard to find battleship receivers. Tunning pointer light works. REMEMBER OLD RECEIVER THAT NEEDS WORK...Needs a volume control....Sent off via us mail parcel post.double boxed.
