Artikelnummer:166596713395JUGENDSTIL Hiawatha Buchstützen Antik Vintage Paar BRADLEY & HUBBARD Gusseisen.
These are a fabulous piece of Memorabilia for anyone interested in Native American Indians or Americana.
Superb pair of Cast Iron Bookends dating to circa 1925 , but very much in the ART NOUVEAU style . These feature Hiawatha and Nokomis” and were made by BRADLEY & HUBBARD . They each stand six and a quarter inches high . They each weigh five and a half pounds . They each have a Longfellow quote, the first reads
“Forth into the forest straightway, all alone walked Hiawatha, proud with his bow and arrows.” – and features Hiawatha. The other bookend quote is “From the red deer’s flesh Nokomis made a banquet in his honor. All the village came and feasted, all the guests praised Hiawatha.
These are not signed but they are by BRADLEY & HUBBARD . They have magnificent attention to detail. Another tell-tale B&H sign are the four drilled holes in the bottom corner of each bookend to hold protective rubber feet.
These do have a deep patina and have not been polished . There is some oxidation but this could be removed . They are Extremely rare.
