Photograph Notes: "But that doesn't apply to us. We've bullt a fireplace and used the post as firewood. The 5 BBQs we bought at Morrisons were too hot to take away with us, so we left them in a pile for the National Trust rangers to deal with when cold. We did take most of the rest of our litter. We didn't want anyone else to use our fireplace so we put the notice on the stones, asking them not to light fires here. After all, if the fire gets really hot it will ignite the peat below the grass and spread well beyond the designated fireplace." Unfortunately, at this time of year litter pickers have to clear up a lot of cans, bottles, packaging and dog poo bags, but also a lot of these things. Some of them do start fires. Some of the sites are well hidden away, as this one had been. If they carry it in, why can't they carry it out? To be fair, this group had only left the evidence of their BBQ. The Morrisons burger pack and a solitary lager can was all that was left to indicate where it had come from.
