Jove is a modern recreation of the Jupiter-6's classic multimode filter. The module offers -24dB low pass, band pass and high pass topologies. Additionally, there is a -12 dB low pass mode reminiscent of the Jupiter-8.
In contrast to the original circuits, Jove is not based on the rare IR3109 Operational Transconductance Amplifier, but features a newly developed OTA design. Nonetheless, the module delivers typical Roland sound with chirping and very cool filter FM effects.
Jove is equipped with two audio inputs, which are summed up internally. One of the signal paths possesses a level potentiometer. A button allows users to switch between the module's four filter types. In detail, there are -12 dB and -24 dB low pass, band pass and high pass modes. Cutoff and can be adjusted via knobs. Two CV connectors plus attenuator respectively attenuator inverter combination make it possible to modulate the filter's frequency parameter. Another control voltage input is linked to the sound. Filtered audio material can be tapped off at the output connector.
