Vintage Harman-Kardon HK560 Receiver WORKING for Parts or Repair. Up for sale here is this nice vintage Harman/Kardon HK560 stereo receiver. This is a fairly nice vintage receiver. This does play fine, but is not in perfect working condition. This has 3 issues. First, it has a huge thump when turned on. I am used to older stereo equipment thumping when turned on, but this has a really heavy thump--I was concerned my speakers would be damaged. Second, a lot of the pushbuttons stick, and at least one (Speaker 1) stays in and will not pop out. Third, and least important, a lot of the little pushbutton lights stay on. This is due to the design, which uses little metal flaps that are supposed to go up and down but get stuck in the up position. This does seem to play fine otherwise. FM reception is good, and the Aux input sounds great. I replaced the fuse lamps with snap-in LEDs, so the dial is nice and bright, and I tried to clean and lube the controls, but they're not 100% perfect--this design makes them really hard to access. This is in fairly good cosmetic condition but does have some wear on the front--there are a lot of scratches around the headphone jack, and the pushbuttons have some light wear/corrosion on them. This has light wear overall as well. This may have other problems, cosmetic and functional, in addition to what I have described. I do try to describe and picture the condition of my items as completely as possible, in order to avoid surprising the buyer. This is sold as non-working, as-is, for parts or repair.
