This speedometer is extremely rare. It was fitted on Interpol Commandoes but can also be fitted to other models as well as any Norton Commando and 1970's Triumph or BSA as it calibrates to 1000 tpm, but is a 120 mph speedo instead of the usual 150 mph on Comanndo's.
Smiths stopped production of cronometric speedoes in 1963 but they were continued for police motorcycles until 1974.
This clock was dismantled and lubricated some 20 odd years ago, fitted with a new bezel and dry stored.
Please note that it appear to require a cable for a magnetic instrument. The third photo show a magnetic speedo to the left and a regular chronometric to the right.
It spins nicely with a short piece of cable in the drive by a drill BUT i strongly recommend this speedo is as a minimum serviced by a professional instrument restorer before being used as hard grease from standing and invading insect life can destroy fragile gears if just pressed into service.
Sold as shown on pictures and no return.
